Exclusive: First Five Minutes of ‘Deadline,’ Starring Brittany Murphy

Following a traumatic incident with her violent ex-boyfriend, Alice (Brittany Murphy) retreats to a remote Victorian house to convalesce and focus on finishing her screenplay in time for a fast approaching deadline. When she begins hearing strange sounds and seeing apparitions, Alice searches for the source, only to find disturbing videotapes in the attic. Yep, that’s exactly what we need more of — an attractive, traumatized girl in a big, spooky, empty Victorian home all by herself, investigating some sort of tragedy while she avoids her own personal dangers. It’s nothing new, but for some reason it always seems to be a bit creepy. That is why we were excited when First Look Studios sent us over an exclusive look at the first five minutes of Deadline, as well as the film’s trailer and some stills (both of which premiered a few days back at ShockTillYouDrop). Because hey, we all like exclusive things and we know that everyone here has a sweet-spot for Brittany Murphy. So lets get to it.

Deadline is on Blu-ray and DVD December 1, 2009.
